Our Board

About the GOCO Board

Our board members are all volunteers who share a passion for Colorado’s great outdoors. Appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Colorado State Senate, each member may serve up to two four-year terms. Board members approve GOCO’s financial plans, grant programs, and all grant awards.

To best represent the interests of our entire state, our 19-member board of trustees is designed so that:

Two members from each of Colorado’s eight congressional districts serve.
No two members from one congressional district are from the same political party.
One member of the board represents agricultural interests.
Two members live west of the Continental Divide.
The executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and two representatives from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission are members.

2026 Meeting Dates

Request for Proposals: Government Affairs Liaison

GOCO is seeking an individual consultant, firm, or team to provide strategic government affairs support, including:

legislative and budget strategy,
relationship-building with state policymakers and agencies,
monitoring and analysis,
advice on GOCO’s funding and constitutional authority, and
guidance on Ballot Initiative 308 and related implementation issues if approved by voters.
