Keli joined the GOCO team in May 2023 as a land acquisitions officer.

Keli Cavaleri selfieWhat did you do before you came to GOCO?

Most recently, I was working at Boulder County Parks and Open Space as a paralegal specialist supporting land acquisitions, dispositions, and conservation easements. My background includes time in both the public and private sector supporting real estate, due diligence, and strategic goals. I am a self-described  legal beagle and love to solve the unsolvable.

Why did you want to work here?

Having been introduced to GOCO by my previous employer, I knew immediately this organization is special and aligns with my passion and love for this state and all its outdoor wonder.  While I have been impressed by the work GOCO does for quite some time, it was after my first meeting with our passionate staff that I knew I wanted to work here.

What has been your favorite part of working here so far?

Meeting such welcoming,  dedicated, and intelligent staff and partners.

Keli Cavaleri dogWhat is your typical day like?

A typical day begins with lots of doggie snuggles, a morning walk, and a cup (or two!) of delicious coffee. A day in the life of a land officer is never the same, which is what is most exciting to me. I may head out to property, chat with a myriad of grantors and partners, or look for ways to keep the efficiency train on track!  Time is always reserved for a quick laugh and chance to glean new knowledge.

What are some of your favorite things to do outdoors?

Leisurely biking along a stream, hiking a new (or beloved) trail, paddleboarding, gardening, and anything that makes my dog happy!!

Keli Cavaleri HikingWhere is your favorite place to get outdoors in Colorado?

It is a three-way tie between horseback riding in Allenspark, camping and potooning on glistening Grand Lake, and getting outside anywhere is Southern Colorado.

What is your most memorable outdoors mishap?

Underestimating the cold night temperatures while camping and waking up feeling like I had done a million sit-ups from a long night of shivering! Always bring more layers than you think!

What is the coolest wildlife you have spotted while outdoors in Colorado?

I am continually in awe of the diverse wildlife we have here in Colorado, but the white deer I saw during a school field trip at Mount Evans remains one of the coolest.
