Jim Ramey (U)
Jim brings a deep love for Colorado's great outdoors and professional experience in public lands policy and advocacy to GOCO. Since 2015, he has held several roles for The Wilderness Society, where he is currently Colorado State Director. In this role, he works to permanently protect public lands, reduce climate emissions, and improve access so that everyone can enjoy the benefits our shared public lands provide. Skilled in developing and leading coalitions, Jim is proud to support community-led efforts across Colorado.
Prior to joining The Wilderness Society, Jim worked for Citizens for a Healthy Community, where he worked to protect people and their environment from irresponsible oil and gas development in the North Fork Valley. Prior to that, he worked for the Ohio legislature, where he provided fiscal and policy analysis to decision-makers on health and human services issues. Jim received his Master’s in Public Administration from The Ohio State University and his BA in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati. Jim is based in Grand Junction and previously lived in Wheat Ridge and Montrose. In his spare time, you can find him hiking, backpacking, running, paddling, and taking pictures of Colorado’s spectacular places and wildlife with his wife, Lindsey, and their dogs Jeffrey Lebowski and Bunny Lebowski.
