David joined the GOCO team in May 2023 as an events and marketing intern.
What did you do before you came to GOCO?
I recently graduated from Colorado Mesa University and worked in the ski industry at a small resort, Powderhorn Mountain, where I was a marketing intern and later became an event coordinator. I recently moved to the Front Range to get closer to family and continue my work in the marketing and events world!
What brought you to GOCO?
The main thing that brought me to GOCO was the passion everyone has here. Everyone is so enthusiastic about the initiatives they are working on, and about helping to ensure a bright future for Colorado’s outdoors. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I want to help our state protect its outdoors. I also want to further my career in marketing and events, and this internship seems like it’s going to give me the tools to do so.
What is your typical day like?
My typical day includes walking my dog in the mornings, then reading or journaling. I also do some work on the side for a family business, helping with marketing or communications needs. I like to end my day by watching some TV and cooking!
What are some of your favorite things to do outdoors?
My all-time favorite thing to do outdoors is ski. I also enjoy fly fishing and recently have been getting into mountain biking.
Where is your favorite place to get outdoors in Colorado?
My favorite place to get outdoors in Colorado is the mountains. Arapahoe National Forest is the place to be for backcountry skiing and going on hikes. I also love Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins on a hot day.
What is the coolest wildlife you have spotted while outdoors in Colorado?
The coolest wildlife I’ve seen in Colorado would have to be the rams on the road to the ski resort where I used to work. They were always climbing the sides of the mountains on the way to work as well as when I would come home.
