All signs point to summer’s arrival – the trails are dry, your office is a ghost town by noon on Friday, school is out, and we (probably) won’t be getting any more snow. Summer’s return means our Instagram photo contest #SpotGOCO is back too!
We have another year of great prizes thanks to our friends at Colorado Lottery (where GOCO funding comes from) and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (where half of GOCO funding goes).
The rules are simple.
- Find a GOCO sign. (We sent out 800 more to our grantees this winter to help you out!)
- Take a picture… the more creative, the better! Just make sure the GOCO logo is visible.
- Upload it to Instagram.
- Tag us @greatoutdoorscolorado and use the hashtag #spotGOCO.
We’ll announce one winner every month of summer. We repost the month’s entries on our Insta, and the post with the most likes on our Instagram account wins. If you enter, you’re guaranteed to get at least one part of the monthly prize pack. Drum roll please…
If you win a monthly prize pack, you will receive:
- A copy of John Fielder’s Colorado’s Great Outdoors coffee table book (a GOCO exclusive – you can’t get this anywhere else!)
- A trail guide for GOCO projects across the state
- A complete guide to Colorado’s 42 state parks
- 10 scratch-off tickets from Colorado Lottery
- GOCO swag including sunscreen, a notebook, and more
- Colorado Lottery swag including sunglasses, keychains, water bottles, and more
- And if your winning photo is taken in a state park, you also get a free day pass to the state park of your choice. There are 42 of them, so choosing just one could get tough.
Winners will be announced at GOCO.org/blog and on Instagram June 28, July 25, and August 22.
Remember, GOCO signs aren’t only in the mountains! They are close to home at many of our urban parks and trails. Find projects near you here or email us with questions. For inspiration, check out #spotGOCO on Instagram.
Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) invests a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance the state’s parks, trails, wildlife, rivers, and open spaces. GOCO’s independent board awards competitive grants to local governments and land trusts, and makes investments through Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Created when voters approved a Constitutional Amendment in 1992, GOCO has since funded more than 4,700 projects in urban and rural areas in all 64 counties without any tax dollar support.
