Summer is nearly here, and with the weather warming up, it’s prime time to get outside! We’re celebrating summer with our #SpotGOCO Instagram contest. We’ve got awesome prize packs for weekly and monthly winners all summer long. The rules are pretty simple.

1. Follow GOCO on Instagram @greatoutdoorscolorado.
2. Find a GOCO sign. Keep your eyes peeled whenever you’re enjoying the great outdoors, whether you’re staying close to home or venturing into the backcountry. Hint: every state park has received GOCO funding, and all of them are treasure troves for GOCO signs!
   Don’t know where to start? Here’s another hint: Find projects in your neighborhood here on GOCO’s website.
3. Take a pretty picture. Whether it’s a selfie, a group shot, or a more scenic view, make sure you can still see the GOCO logo on the sign.
4. Upload it to Instagram and use #SpotGOCO.

Weekly winners will be chosen by GOCO staff based on the quality of your pictures – remember, it has to be Insta-worthy!

Weekly winners receive one of our brand new GOCO tshirts, and the prizes only get better from there. Each month, we’ll put the weekly winners’ pictures up to a vote on social media. If your picture receives the most votes (yes, you can enlist the help of family and friends!), you will receive a GOCO prize pack that includes (among other things) John Fielder’s book, Colorado’s Great Outdoors, and a trail guide to GOCO projects across the state.  The contest runs from May until August, so you have four chances to win this package!

One more thing – monthly winners with pictures from a state park win a free day pass to a Colorado state park of your choosing (there are 42 of them, so that could be a tough choice).

Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) invests a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance the state’s parks, trails, wildlife, rivers and open spaces. GOCO’s independent board awards competitive grants to local governments and land trusts, and makes investments through Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Created by voters in 1992, GOCO has funded more than 4,500 projects in all 64 counties without any tax dollar support. The grants are funded by GOCO’s share of Colorado Lottery revenues, which are divided between GOCO, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Conservation Trust Fund and school construction.
